The invite to this event

NYAN won 8/9 matches and made the finals! We were #8 going into the semi-finals,
Our division (80 teams) had the top 10 teams in the world in it, so it was a tough division.
We became paired with LANBros and Gluten Free on the #1 alliance (thru great effort
explained elsewhere in this album).

We won the semi-finals, then the finals, and then played the winner of other division (also 80 teams)
in the world championship match at Ford Field. And then...

We won the world championship bout! Wow!

There were 7,000 teams this season, and we ranked 12th among them, entering this tournament.

Team
Oustanding job all the way around. Amazing what you have accomplished this week, and this season.
Thank you for all the hard work, diligence, and strategy that this competition required.
The strategy... oh the strategy. You rocked.

Drive Team
Special thanks to Allen, Brendan, and Ricky, with nerves of steel, who had an extremely mentally
and physically challenging several days. There were 9 matches before finals!

Parents
Thanks to the parents attending. It was so nice of you to support the team and support your kids in this way.
And many of you helped so significantly, which greatly helped us concentrate on the competition.
Special thanks to Allen Mons Sr. for fostering and ultimately paying for the room change to across the street from the venue
(and to Debbie for spending her morning making that happen ... "are you really sure?" she kept asking
because it was such a pain for so many reasons). This proved to be pivotal since we were in
contention for finals, and all the top teams were in our area, and... drum roll please... we ended up getting
a king suite and setting up a field in it(!). So the team could practice and repair at night(!). Yikes.

Carmel
Thanks to Carmel Catholic for funding most of this, and supporting the team.
President (Dr. Bonham), principal (Mr. Huther), and vice principal (Ms. Budris) texted cheer for us throughout the event.
Also, countless students were watching the matches on Friday during various classes. Even St. Gilberts
students made NYAN "good luck" cards.

Sponsors
Thanks to our sponsors:
Hydraforce, Digital Design Corporation (DDC), Advanced Network Devices (AND),
Google, Elenco, and Actual Technologies

Matches
It was weird... We were paired with mostly lower scoring teams, and did most of the scoring in
most matches. But this made us less stand-out to the higher scoring teams, and we were
not able to put up the massive scores we were capable of with a strong partner.
We were still happy with the pairings, and thank our partners for their assistance.
